Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre is a community based non-profit charitable organization whose team of professional staff and volunteers provide vital settlement services to newcomers as they strive to create a rewarding life in Canada. It was incorporated as the Folk Arts Council of St. Catharines in 1970, having the mandate to support and assist the ethno-cultural and newcomer community in Niagara through a broad range of programs and services.
Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre will be a pivotal resource in welcoming newcomers to our community and will be valued as one of the finest settlement agencies in Ontario. OUR FUNDERS

A designated Heritage Building, Grantham Academy, in downtown St. Catharines, was built in 1829 as the second High School in Upper Canada. Robertson Hall, the original school’s annex, has been restored as a beautiful meeting space available for public and private functions. Five bursaries of $1,000 each are to be awarded annually to newcomer youth. Presentations to recipients will be made during the Niagara Folk Arts Festival Open House, held at the end of May. FOLK ARTS FESTIVAL
During the festival the multicultural community opens its doors and its hearts and welcomes you to experience the beauty and uniqueness of their cultures, traditions, art, music and food. There are dances, exhibitions, live entertainment and more. ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE
Our centre offers full time language instruction for newcomers and English as a Second Language instruction for adults. Our LINC/ESL program facilitates students’ social, cultural and occupational integration into Canadian life.
