MediaBrix - New York, NYMediaBrix is looking for a bright and professional individual to join our application development team. The right candidate will be responsible for the specifications and development of cutting-edge advertising mobile applications. In this role the candidate will work as a key member of the development team to deliver easy-to-use mobile applications for the various MediaBrix mobile products. As our mobile applications target multiple platforms including iOS (iPhone and iPad), Android and HTML5, the right candidate will have deep skills and prior experience in one or more of these platforms. Additionally, we are looking for a person with a strong understanding of the software development life cycle, strong communication skills, and the desire and ability to contribute as a leader within the development team. We are seeking someone who cannot only deliver complex mobile applications, also innovative in the way they think.

Responsibilities:

• Specification, development, and debugging of mobile applications
• Working closely with back-end development team and 3rd party UX design firm to implement mobile product requirements
• Creation of reusable libraries and mobile application frameworks. Evaluate and research latest technologies.
• Advise management with regards to pros and cons of implementation of specific mobile platforms
• Play an important role in the direction of our mobile products
• Bring your best-in-class engineering skills to create innovative applications for our clients
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; desired majors include Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, etc.
• Familiar with Agile software development methodologies is preferred
• Successful candidates will have 3+ years of relevant mobile application development experience in a professional environment along with 5-7 years of overall development experience, Multi mobile platform experience desired
• Experience with creating and consuming Web Services (RESTful web services)
• Familiarity with workflow and database driven applications
• Awareness of security issues related to mobile application development.
• Expertise in building mobile friendly web sites and web applications is a plus
  

Technical Experience:

• Experience with Java, Webkit, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• iOS development using Objective-C, Apple iOS System Design & Implementation
• Strong experience detecting and correcting low level Android and iOS issues & optimizing performance code
• Experience with SQL Lite and offline device data storage techniques and Client/Server application development
• Experience with device / server communications via JSON, XML and / or HTML via REST / Web Service
• Knowledge of the Android OS is a definite plus, Windows Phone experience / knowledge a plus
• Knowledge of JQuery mobile, PhoneGap and Unity a plus
